For the AESCIART International Conference hosted by the Art and Design Faculty (FSRD) at ITB, the primary focus was making a branding identity for a diverse academic audience. The target audience encompassed artists, designers, educators, researchers, and students across various disciplines within the expansive realm of art and design. Additionally, the event's branding sought to resonate with academic scholars keenly interested in exploring the latest trends and research within the field.
The design challenge was to seamlessly merge the formal aspects of geometric abstraction with an ambiance befitting an academic setting. The objective was to create a visual identity that not only embodied the academic rigor of the conference but also drew inspiration from the world of geometric abstraction.
To meet this challenge, I initiated the project by crafting a distinctive visual element intended for use across all design collaterals. This foundational element seamlessly integrated geometric shapes with vibrant colors, striking a delicate balance between the formal and academic essence of the conference and the dynamic and creative spirit inherent in the world of art and design. This approach aimed to resonate with the target audience, offering a visually engaging representation of the conference that captures the formality of academia and the creativity of artistic expression.
